Going Steady was released on Warwick Records in January 1980[1] and contains "20 GREAT HITS FROM THE SOUNDTRACK OF" a 1979 Israeli film that was the second in the Lemon Popsicle film series.[2] In the UK, this Israeli film was known as Lemon Popsicle 2 whereas 'Going Steady' was the title in the US.[3] The film is set in the 1950s[4] so the soundtrack largely reflects this, with a few that were hits in the early 1960s.
The album entered the UK Albums Chart w/e February 16, 1980 at #25 (its peak position) spending a total of 10 weeks on the chart.[5]
