The Andromeda Breakthrough (1962)

The Andromeda Breakthrough was the sequel to the popular BBC TV science fiction serial A for Andromeda, starring Peter Halliday, Susan Hampshire, Mary Morris, Noel Johnson, and introducing Claude Farell. Unlike the previous story, The Andromeda Breakthrough survives complete in the BBC archives.

John Fleming and Professor Dawney, and Andromeda, are kidnapped by Kaufman and taken to a Middle Eastern country in a bid to exploit their abilities.

The title star of the previous serial, Julie Christie, was unavailable. She was recast with Susan Hampshire as Andromeda, who survived her fall into the cavern pool.
