In the press

Western Daily Press (June 1, 1972)
Martin Kelner wrote: "For the first time in this country an LP has been released which features a collection of recent hits, all done by the original artist. It costs £1.99, whereas the total singles value of the songs on it is £4.50."

(Nottingham) Evening Post (June 9, 1972)
Sidney Nelson wrote: "The 'Good Value' awards for June looks bound to finish with 20 Dynamic Hits, which has at least 21 sound reasons for being purchased. They are not relentlessly "dynamic" yet they all have a distinctive something. Put together like this they could easily have made the asking price well over £2. Instead, one of the best, most tightly packaged albums of 1972 is yours for £1.99, the first release by K-Tel Records in the UK (TE 292).

Record Mirror (June 24, 1972)
The magazine reviewed the album: "Quite amazing value, this...with a vast list of top names producing original hits. Positively no covers and ideal for parties. As advertised on telly, folks."
K-tel bought some advertising space in this issue to thank those who bought 20 Dynamic Hits and sent it to #1.

(Belfast) News-Letter (June 27, 1972)
Michael Smith revealed that "the revolution is being led by an unknown company, K-tel." He explained the company's origins, and pointed out that the album was "riding high in the top LP selling charts and some retailers put it a the top..." "Among the many amazing facts about K-tel and the [album] is the selling price of £1.99 and the total sales of well over 250,000 in just a few weeks." Smith continues to explain K-tel's marketing approach. The television advert cost £300,000 and was "an overwhelming success and now talk in the record trade is that [the album] will sell 500,000 copies..."

DeeJay (March, 1973)
The magazine listed 20 Dynamic Hits at #9 in its Top 10 Disco Albums of 1972.
