Lena Martell
Scottish singer
Lena Martell (born Helen Thomson) is a Scottish singer, with a long career in theatre, television and musicals.[1]
Martell had released almost 30 singles in the UK before she enjoyed her only hit single - and a #1 at that - "One Day at a Time" in 1979. The song was originally released in 1977 and possibly re-released in anticipation of her double appearance on the Ronco album Peace in the Valley released towards the end of 1979. She had more success with albums, with six in the charts, three of which released by her label, Pye, and the others all compilations from Ronco.[2][3]
